Fuselage underway and aileron mounting

Just some of the fuselage kit contents. What a vast quantity of bits & pieces!

Oh, yeah – and some more skins, too!

Right aileron mounted to wing.

First pieces of the mid-fuselage going together.

Priming time! Good thing I checked ahead for the overall fuselage diagram, as some of these parts won’t be primed. Instead, they’ll eventually receive the interior’s finish color paint.

Primer shot.

Doublers and side channels riveted to bulkhead bottom channel.

Wings riveted, fuselage inventorying

Right wing now fully riveted and ready for the wing stand.

Right wing now stored with its mate for a few months while fuselage construction is underway.

Thanks to Jean, Paul, and Tony for their assistance in repositioning the wing this morning.

Fours hours spent inventorying the fuselage kit over two days and I’ve only just finished working with the parts. All of the hardware is yet to be done. Probably another several hours to go. Lots and lots of “stuff” in this kit, with some items being quite large.

The project is about to very rapidly grow unwieldy…

Wings, skins progress and fuselage arrival

Fuselage kit arrival and offloading.

Fuselage kit arrival and offloading. This part always makes me nervous. I couldn’t even watch the manhandling on the lift gate.

Fuselage kit safe and sound in the airplane factory/garage.

So neatly packed…

Inventory sheets and fresh plans/instruction manual pages right on top!

Right wing outboard bottom skin riveting continues. Nearly done now.
