Fuselage, components under assembly

Elevator bellcrank assembly installation in progress, also known as ‘fun in the tailcone’…NOT!!

Yaw servo mount riveted to aft face of #7 bulkhead. That’s RV-14A for “nearly inaccessible”.

Main fuselage harnesses laid out for the first time. That’s a lotta wires…

Autopilot pitch servo installed.

Autopilot pitch & yaw servo wiring harness installed.

The single loose wire is the ground for both servos and is now installed. The other connector is for the autopilot yaw servo and will be connected this weekend when I get the other servo mounted.

Fuselage, fuel system continued…

Seat back guides screwed and riveted in place.

Fuel selector valve ready for installation.

Fuel system installed! Visible here (back to front) are: fuel lines, fuel selector valve, filter, and pump. What a bear; glad it’s done.

A view looking aft showing the fuel lines (and their brackets) going to bulkhead fittings in each wing root.

Fuselage, tailcone progress

Bulkhead components ready for priming.

Bulkhead components primed.

Bulkhead components test fit to the tailcone.

Tailcone turned 90-degrees to facilitate aft fuselage service bulletin installation.

Tailcone turned 90-degrees to facilitate aft fuselage service bulletin installation. Believe it or not, both Jean and I managed to crawl in there (not simultaneously!) to complete the SB work.

Aft fuselage doubler installed per the service bulletin.
