Fuselage skins continued…

Idler brackets riveted to bearing and bulkhead.

Not much to see today, but lots of preparatory work done with forward and center bottom skins, doublers, and stiffeners.

Tomorrow morning, the large center bottom skin will get dimpled and then the buildup of components on it will commence.

Fuselage, ribs, skins progress

Outboard seat ribs have to be fluted to conform to the curve in the bottom skin. Done!

All the correct bolts lined up ready to attach the seat ribs to the aft center section bulkhead.

Bolting of those ribs in progress…

All happily bolted in place.

Seat ribs now fully riveted.

Baggage ribs and components ready for priming.

Bulkhead bottom channel clecoed to seat rib assembly.

Bulkhead bottom channel riveting complete for now. The remaining seat ribs are riveted a bit later on.

Fuselage, ribs, skins underway

Back at it after a day away from the project for Jeanie’s birthday yesterday.

Lots of little jobs to do today – nutplates, bushing clips, seat rib doublers, routing angles, and crotch strap brackets were all riveted in place. Various bolt holes were also reamed to final sizes.

Outboard seat and baggage ribs must be fluted to match the curve of the center bottom skin. Shown in work here.

Fuselage underway and aileron mounting

Just some of the fuselage kit contents. What a vast quantity of bits & pieces!

Oh, yeah – and some more skins, too!

Right aileron mounted to wing.

First pieces of the mid-fuselage going together.

Priming time! Good thing I checked ahead for the overall fuselage diagram, as some of these parts won’t be primed. Instead, they’ll eventually receive the interior’s finish color paint.

Primer shot.

Doublers and side channels riveted to bulkhead bottom channel.
