Since Van’s neglected to send (or even include as a line item on the inventory sheets!!) the required canopy fairing templates, my fiberglassing project is on hold for a few days. So…on to other tasks.
Canopy rear seal and seal retainers installed.
Seatback components in work…
Left canopy side skin screwed and riveted in place.
Right canopy side skin screwed and riveted in place.
Seal retainers clecoed to rear seal.
Canopy frame ready for glareshield and touchup painting.
Canopy frame masked for glareshield and touchup painting.
Canopy frame glareshield and touchup painting done.
Canopy frame, side skins, and plexiglass mounted back to fuselage for riveting and fiberglassing prep.
Canopy perimeter drilled out to #27 in anticipation of #6 screws.
