As shared by SteinAir, this is Ken’s nicely setup RV-14 with dual screen Garmin G3X 10″ EFISes, G5 backup EFIS/ADAHRS, GTN-750 Navigator, GMC autopilot, remote 2nd radio, remote audio panel with bluetooth, remote transponder with ADSB Weather+Traffic, and more!

Panel component installation underway
Transponder installation underway. I fabricated the tray for the remote unit and will screw it to the underside of the panel and sub-panel flanges.
Lots of wires to get oriented and squared away, but nearly all of the connections (not including the stick-grips) have been made at this point. All of the wires that pass through the firewall have been so passed. I’m about ready to do the firesleeving of both firewall penetrations.
I moved my padded “nest” from the left side to the right in preparation for installing the remote Comm 2 box and the IBBS, as well as zip-tying all of the dangling wires on that side.
The remote Comm 2 can be seen here in the rack I fabbed for it. The IBBS will be mounted above it on a couple of span-wise plates.
Firewall forward, panel progress
With the completion of the throttle linkage today, all control cables are now properly connected and ready for flight.
Throttle cable linkage is now complete and ready for flight. Shown here in the full-throttle position.
Throttle cable linkage is now complete and ready for flight. Shown here in the closed-throttle position.
My favorite helper working on the panel’s main bus block. We got it mounted today, then fabricated its connection to the shunt, and installed/secured that wire. — with Jean Balch.
Shunt wiring is complete, including the two little signal wires.
Panel progress continued…
Throttle cable installed.
Alternate air cable installed. Canopy jettison handle cleaned up, smoothly functioning, and permanently installed.
OAT probe routed down from G3X and out the left wing root wiring hole. Lots of zip ties along the way. I was initially concerned that it wouldn’t be sufficiently long, but I feel better about it now. It only has to make it to the first inspection panel in the wing.
GEA24 sensor wires run forward through the firewall and awaiting their respective connections over the next few days.
